SPRING SUMMER 27'
“The privileges of beauty are immense. It influences even those who fail to notice it.” — Jean Cocteau
In 1920s Paris, American aerialist Barbette captivated audiences by transforming masculinity and femininity into an extraordinary performance. A muse to Jean Cocteau, he challenged the boundaries of identity, revealing beauty as something fluid, theatrical and impossible to define. For Spring Summer 2027, Erdem revisits Barbette’s world of illusion and transformation, exploring the tension between masculine and feminine forms. A century later, his story feels strikingly relevant, reminding us that identity is never simply fixed, and that beauty lives in the space between what we see and what we imagine.
